A little haul

So yesterday I did a little shopping and picked up a few bits and pieces.

A little trip away!

This isn't a beauty related post, but I did promise the occasional lifestyle post, so here's the first.
So recently at uni I had to do a presentation and I'm not going to lie, I was really scared about doing it, I have suffered from social anxiety disorder for years now and the thought of doing anything in front of an audience honestly terrifies me. To give me a bit more of an incentive to actually turn up and get it over with, and to celebrate my 19th birthday, my boyfriend booked us a little weekend away to the countryside, and I had the best time there, we stayed in a little cottage and the view was absolutely amazing. I don't think I've been anywhere so beautiful in my entire life. I took some photos whilst we were there that I thought I would share just a few of my favourites with you, although they don't really do the views much justice.

REVIEW: Avene Gentle Gel Cleanser

Buy here
As you may know, I am obsessed with skincare, it is definitely my favourite thing to splash out on, and I'm always picking up new bits and pieces. I have been wanting a new cleanser that would gently cleanse my face without completely stripping it, so I turned to Avene. For the past few years I have been using French skincare brands religiously. Brands like La Roche-Posay, Caudalie, Bioderma and Vichy are amongst my favourites, but I'd never tried Avene before, and I've been wanting to give them a go for ages.

REVIEW: Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Super Volume mascara!

£10.00 Buy here
When it comes to my eyelashes, volume is the main thing I want and I have tried many mascaras which continually let me down in this department, yes, some of them do make my lashes look nice, but just not in the way I want. This mascara, however, is different. It has a bristle brush, which I love as I have never really been a fan of plastic mascara wands, I just don't think they do much for me.The wand is quite big and seems to pick up just the right amount of product to build volume but not clump up your lashes. I also really like the actual formula of this mascara, it's very black and isn't too wet or too dry and it doesn't leave that hard, sort of crispy feeling on my lashes.

REVIEW: Natural Collection products!

I personally love a bargain and when I first tried Natural Collection a few years back I was pleasantly surprised by just how good this brand is! This brand is available from boots in the UK and I believe all the products in the brand cost £1.99

I personally think the stand out products from this brand are their moisture shine lipsticks, I currently have two shades, Apple Blossom, which is a pale peachy pink colour, and Raspberry, which is a bright pinky red colour, both these shades are very pigmented and either contains any shimmer (which I am personally very happy about!), although, if you do like shimmer in your lipsticks, the range includes some shimmery shades too. They are comfortable to wear and have a good lasting power considering they are moisturising. The best part is that these lipsticks are only £1.99!
Top: Apple Blossom
Bottom: Raspberry

Everyday makeup routine!

So I already uploaded this but so of the links weren't working properly for me so here it is again, I apologise and hopefully everything works this time.
FACE: To begin I use Maybelline's Fit Me foundation in 110 (Buy here), it is too dark for me but has a light coverage so I can just about work with it. To give my skin a bit of a glow I mix the So Susan Water-based Pure luminizer (Buy here). To apply foundation I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (Buy here)
After foundation I use Harmony blush by MAC to contour (Buy here) and then powder with Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder (Buy here). To apply this I use the Clinique powder brush (Buy here).

Soap and Glory haul!

Earlier today I popped into town and went into boots to pick up a face wash as I ran out this morning. Whilst there I went to look at the Soap and Glory section and bought a few things that I thought I would share with you.
£6.00 Buy here
The first thing I bought was the Peaches and Clean cleansing milk. It claims to be a 4-in-1 cleanser that includes peach extract with skin smoothing fruit acids, quillaja bark, which is a natural soap, jojoba oil, to soften the skin and detoxyboost technology, which helps purify and deep clean the skin. It also claims to give a clearer, fresher and brighter complexion. I tried this when I got back to my boyfriend's house and I really like it, it doesn't lather at all on the skin and instead as a cream texture that you just massage into your face and then rinse off. The first thing I noticed about this was the scent, it smells like peaches and isn't at all artificial. I also noticed that it left my skin feeling clean and soft. It claims to be suitable for all skin types but when reading the information on the back I did notice that it contains exfoliating alpha hydroxy acids, which, sounds pretty scary so if you have sensitive skin, I would be careful with this product.

Favourite drugstore lip products!

1. Rimmel Kate matte lipstick in the shade 101: £5.49 Buy here
I love the Kate Moss range of lipsticks for rimmel, and this is my favourite shade for everyday wear. It is a lovely soft pink colour that I think would suit lots of people. It has a matte finish but does not feel heavy or drying on the lips at all, they are reasonably long lasting, and I only had to re-apply a few times during the whole day. These lipsticks have a scent that reminds me of watermelon but it is not too strong and once on the lips I don't notice it at all.
